Career Week: ACS

ACS had a lot of people come:
  • Michelle Martin
  • Lou Dibella
  • Doug Barton
  • Steve Gardanier
  • David Carroll
  • Steve McNamara
Lunch was by Kneaders.

They ran out of food, so I went to Panda Express with Lannon. I was late to the presentation, but the speakers that I heard gave us some really good advice. Concerning ACS, I don't think that I would want to work there -- They're the company does work for gigantic corporate companies. That's not the kind of environment that I want to work in.

Oh, the best part of all is that they brought a bunch of stress balls, and stress footballs.

Career Week: IBM

Jim Reach of IBM spoke today. Food was provided by Chick-fil-A.

I didn't go for two main reasons:
  1. I don't like chicken.
  2. I have little iterest in IBM.

Career Week: Microsoft

Microsoft

Today, Chris Henley of Microsoft came and spoke to us during lunch. His speach was very interesting. He is a very passionate guy with a good set of values. He had a lot of great things to say about Microsoft as a company. I am definentally keeping the option of Microsoft as a career open for my future.

Lunch was tacos from Gecko's Mexican Grill.

Career Week: Novell

This week is career week at Neumont University. This means that at noon every day this week we will have the operatunity to listen to a guest speaker from some big-name company. Oh, and the best part of all -- FREE LUNCH!

Novell

Alan Clark and Cheryl Williams came to speak to us about some of the things that go on at Novell. I really liked their outlook on the future. Novell is highly involved in the open source and open standards community. In fact, Alan Clark's job was to be involved in a lot of the major standards organizations.

Oh, and for lunch, it was pizza from The Pie. It was good.
